Nurse's Corner- January 23, 2019

We are still in the flu season.  If you have not received your flu shot, it is not too late to do so.  Also, please remind your child to properly wash his/her hands and to cover his/her mouth when coughing or sneezing or to cough or sneeze into his/her sleeve.  This will help prevent the spread of germs.

If your child has been sick, he/she must be fever-free, vomit-free, or diarrhea-free for 24 hours before returning to school.

The nurse’s office is in need of the following supplies: tissues, baby wipes, disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, girls/boys underwear of all sizes, water bottles, and individually wrapped cheese crackers.  Any child who donates items to the nurse’s office will receive a jean pass.

Please continue to send in your unexpired box tops.  We use them to purchase much needed school supplies.  You can put your unexpired box tops in a baggie.  They do not need to be put on a Box Top sheet.

Thank you for assisting me in providing the best health care possible for your child.

Nurse's Corner-February 14th, 2019
A letter will be sent home on tomorrow with all fifth grade students regarding the puberty video being shown on 3/8/19.  All fifth grade students are about to study an important lesson on the early stages of puberty, which many fifth graders are beginning to experience.  The boys and girls will be shown the video in separate classrooms.  The permission slip must be signed and returned by 3/7/19.  Please indicate by checking the appropriate box if you give permission for your child to view the video or if you do not want your child to view the video.  If the permission letter is not completed and returned, your child will not be allowed to view the video.  If you have any questions, please the nurse’s office at 972-274-7950.

Nurse's Corner- April 22nd, 2019

A letter was sent home to all 6th grade students who need immunizations before entering the 7th grade.  If your child did not receive one, your child is up-to-date with his/her immunizations.  If your student receives the immunizations before the end of this school year, please send me a copy showing that he/she received the immunizations and I will update their immunization record.

A letter will be going home to all students who have medications in the nurse’s office.  All medications must be picked-up by a parent or guardian.  No medications will be sent home with the student.  If you wish for someone else to pick up your child’s medication, please contact the nurse office at 972-274-7950 and give the person’s name that you want to pick up your child’s medication.

Please continue to clip and send in your unexpired box tops.  The school uses them to purchase much needed school supplies.

Thank you,
